Borewell Casings & Screen
The Casing and Screens are made from 100% virgin unplasticized polyvinyl chloride compound and are coloured blue. They are supplied with the male pipe thread at the spigot end and a female pipe thread at the socket end.Screens can be supplied with a plain surface.Slots are arranged horizontally to improve the mechanical strength of the screens and are designed to give open areas ranging from 6% to 12% depending on the size and slot width.
Screens
Screens are available in a range of slot sizes and when selecting the type and diameter of the screen to be used the following should be borne in mind: - the permeability of the screens has to be higher than that of the sand or gravel layer directly next to the outer layer of the screen.
- that slot width should be selected to permit the construction of a sand or gravel screen around the well screen during development.
- that the screen does not corrode and that it can be regenerated by mechanical or chemical means without damage.
